When they say that all Americans are likely to get involved in a car accident at least once in their lifetime, you would think that celebrities would be exempt from the rule.

But it turned out; they can get into some nasty car crashes like the rest of us.

Here are some of the most notable celebrities who got involved in a car accident in 2010:

  Juliette Lewis – The actress-musician suffered a neck and a back injury after the car she was riding was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

• Tom Brady – The New England Patriots star quarterback got into a nasty car crash after a motorist (with a long history of driving violations) beat a red light and struck Brady’s car early October

• Jeff Ross – The roast master was still able to drive his Toyota Prius even after it took a major hit on its bumper in Hollywood last month.

• Robert Schimmel – His raunchy comedy made him popular but his life made him inspirational. The world of entertainment was shocked after the reports of his death due to a major car crash in Phoenix came out last month.

• Dr. Frank Ryan – The surgeon to the stars died last month after he lost control of his jeep while on the way home from hiking with his beloved dog.

• Russell Brand – The British comedian and fiancé to Katy Perry had to climb out of his wrecked Lamborghini after it was hit by a large truck in New York last August.

• Dennis Rodman – The former NBA bad boy was true to his tough guy form as he walked away from a crash virtually unscathed save for a scratch in his fingernail last August.

• George Michael – George Michael grabbed the headlines after crashing into a Snappy Snaps store in London last July.

• Amy Locane – The former Melrose Place mainstay was charged with vehicle homicide after causing a fatal car accident in New Jersey last June.

• Boney James – The jazz musician sustained some minor injuries after being rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver last May.

• Demi Lovato – The Disney star got into a minor accident due to fatigue last May.

• Jason Alexander – The Seinfeld star acted like a true gentleman on how he handled the crash with a bicyclist in LA last April.

• Heather Locklear – The TV star almost got charged as a hit-and-run driver after hitting a “no parking” sign last April.

• Shawn Pyform – The actor from Desperate Housewives collided with a wrong way bicyclist in San Fernando Valley last March.

• Erika “RIkki” Mongeon – The star of reality show “A Double Shot at Love” is now recovering after being in a drug induced coma following a major car crash last March.

• Drew Barrymore – The Charlie’s Angels star was unhurt after being rear-ended by a paparazzo last February.

• Justin Mentell – The actor from Boston Legal was killed in a fatal car crash in Wisconsin last February
