Pedestrians should always watch out for approaching vehicles and use designated crosswalks to avoid being involved in an accident. Remember, a driver may not be held liable for a pedestrian’s injuries if the latter was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
A 60-year-old woman who was not using a designated crosswalk sustained major injuries after being hit by a BMW in Visalia, said reports.
Authorities stated that a 52-year-old BMW driver identified as Edmund Auyeung, from Visalia, hit Janet Cross, also from Visalia, while the pedestrian was walking across Chinowth Road.
The accident occurred at around 9:40 p.m. along south of Noble Avenue.
According to reports, Cross was rushed to Kaweah Delta Medical Center to receive immediate treatment for her injuries.
