DUI Crash Kills Passenger; Driver only with Minor Injuries

A 25-year-old driver, who appeared to be drunk, was arrested after a fatal rollover crash in Richgrove Drive.

The suspected DUI driver, Fidel Cantoriano of Richgrove, was said to be highly intoxicated when he made an unsafe turn shortly before 1 a.m. that caused the 2000 Ford to hit a concrete part of White River Bridge and roll over.

The vehicle veered off the road and spun around before it rolled over and rested on its roof.

An unidentified passenger who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt died at the scene as another passenger who was wearing seatbelt at the time of the crash sustained major injuries.

Cantoriano, who now faces felony DUI and manslaughter charges, survived the accident with only minor injuries.

In cases of DUI, negligent drivers are almost always the one who is NOT seriously injured or killed. However, they are the ones to suffer life-long consequences of their actions as they will be held liable and punished for their wrong-doings.
