Elderly Driver Dies when Broadsided by Van in Irvine

Driving along an intersection is dangerous because it is a place where you will likely encounter vehicles coming from all sides.

A 77-year-old woman died when the car that she was driving was broadsided by a van along an intersection in Irvine.

According to reports, the woman was identified as Patricia Thompson-Yates, from Irvine.

The woman was traveling eastbound along Farwell Avenue when her Toyota was broadsided by a van that was moving southbound along Culver Drive at around 1:20 p.m., said Irvine police.

According to reports, she was brought to Hoag Hospital, where she died after 2:00 p.m.

No one else was hurt in the accident.

  1. If the driver of the van was proven to be negligent, he may be required to compensate the deceased’s loved ones. My sympathies to Patricia’s family.
