When I first saw this news item, it was on the top 5 headlines of CBS8.com but when I checked back, it was so difficult to find again.

Do I smell a cover up?? (kidding!!)

Anyway, GM announced the product recall of 1.3 million Chevrolet and Pontiac cars after the NHTSA received reports about the cars losing its power steering assist.

The affected models include:
• Chevrolet Cobalt, 2005 – 2010
• Pontiac G5, 2007-2010
• Pontiac Pursuit, 2005-2006
• Pontiac G4, 2006

However, since the replacement power steering motors has not arrived yet, affected customers will have to wait for the recall notification from GM.

GM assured the public that the cars are still safe to drive and never loses their steering.

Owners may just experience some difficulty in when traveling below 15 mph.

GM will be fixing the older models first since the problem usually occurs after 20,000 t 30,000 miles of traveling.

They will also be fixing thousands of vehicles on dealer lots nationwide.

  1. Any motorist will know that, no matter how much money you pay for a car, how new or old it is, there will always be something that can go wrong. It doesn’t matter how rare the fault is, or how well the car runs most of the time, eventually something can go wrong – and when it does, you often find yourself having to hand over plenty of cash to get it repaired.
