Pedestrian Dies when Hit by Suspected Drunken Elderly Driver

Alcohol can impair a person’s driving skills so it is not advisable for you to drink before sitting behind the wheel.

An elderly SUV driver who failed to stay sober struck and killed a pedestrian along Sunset Mobile Home Park at the 11700 Donner Pass Road in Truckee, California.

The driver was identified as Ronald Sonsowski, 60, from Coronado. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Meanwhile, the pedestrian identified as Juan Matamoros-Flores, 25, from Truckee, was initially bought to Tahoe Forest Hospital. He was then transferred to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, where he died.

My condolences to the victim’s loved ones.
