Vehicle Accident Case Involving Drunken LA Deputy Settled, City to Pay $5M

Police officers should be more responsible with their actions because they serve as role models to ordinary citizens. This may be accomplished by following rules, which they are also required to enforce.

An intoxicated Los Angeles police officer who collided with another vehicle around three years ago is now causing additional financial problems to the city, since the Board of Supervisors chose to settle the case by giving around $4.75 million to the aggrieved party.

Reports said Deputy Robert Moran got drunk and was driving a city-issued SUV at high speeds when he suddenly collided with a car being driven by Elias Aldana.

Aldana was seriously injured in the crash. It turned out that he was high on drugs at the time of the incident.
